If gas-tight seal is required between the base and the duct use 2 each of McMaster 2418T143
To extend air sampling nose up to 12” into the duct use WAQ-ALTB, cut to length. (not shown)
Use mounting template WAQ-DCTMNT for proper location of holes for air sampling holes.
Mounting Procedure
1. Identify Ideal Location
Keep close to power source to limit electrical run if possible.
Locate in clean return or supply stream // avoid mixing plenum for best results.
Allow for enough space to remove cover and service WAQ.
2. Start with template. There will be one (1) delivered per building with duct mounts.
Drill self-tapping screws into (4) corners. Locations match actual duct mount.
Drill pilot hole for duct penetration. Use a 1/8” drill bit. Steel bushings are inlaid into template, there is no risk of damaging template.
3. Bore out duct penetration hole. Using a step bit is recommended.
Step slowly
Drill hole down to 7/8" OD
4. Slide duct mount in through holes. Make sure that inserts have
5. From inside, install scoops.
6. Mount in WAQ with back-plate installed.
7. Connect antenna
8. Power
In MERs Chief Engineers may require electrical runs kept in conduit/liquid-tight.
Drill ½” or ¾” holes into bottom of duct mount enclosure to fit gland connections.
Can use BX cable OR liquid-tight [liquid-tight recommended].
